Reed of Rt. 5, Many, died on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m., in the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa Okla. He was 57. Brother Reed, as he was lovingly known by the congregation of the Pendleton Assembly of God Church, had resided in the lake area for the past five years. He retired as a building contractor in Tulsa before he and his wife moved to the lake. Interested in the lake, Brother Reed built Big Bass Trailer Park, and then sold it. He was a prominent personality in the lake area. Brother Reed served as song leader, and choir director of the Pendleton Church. He constantly gave donations to keep the mission programs stable. Brother Reed enjoyed young people of all ages. His mission in life was to guide everyone toward Christianity. He did this by living a good life, and using his life as an example to others. Ailing for some time, Brother Reed succumbed, following and extended illness. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bonnie Reed of Tulsa, two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Sue Gaines of Sand Springs, Okla., and Mrs. Ona Faye Bartlett of McComb, Delaware, one son, the Rev. Lawrence D. Reed of Alexandria, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Skyview Assembly of God Church in Sand Springs, Okla. The Rev. C. E. Bell, pastor of Pendleton Assembly of God Church, officiated. He was assisted by Rev. J. W. Rich, and the Rev. J. W. Hocker. Burial was in the Sand Springs Cemetery. A Memorial Service, in memory of Brother Reed, will be held on Sunday, Jan. 29, at 3 p.m., at the Pendleton Church. The same sermon that was preached at Bro. Reed's funeral, will be repeated by Rev. Bell for the benefit of friends and loved ones in the area. Everyone is welcome to attend this special service.
