George Russell Reed

  Services for George Russell Reed, 75, of Lake Charles, were held
in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Thomas Dunbar
officiated. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens in Lake
Charles.

  Mr. Reed died on Thursday, July 4, 1985, at 8:35 p.m., in St.
Patrick's Hospital.

  George Reed was a native of Iota, and had lived in Lake Charles
for 18 years. He retired as a Production Supervisor of Shell Oil
Co., and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Iota.

  Surviving relatives include his wife, Thelma T. Reed of Lake
Charles; one son, Wade E. Reed of Zwolle; two stepsons, Carroll
G. Landry of Lake Charles, and Irvin Lee Landry of Grand Chenier;
one daughter, Carolyn Carroll of Dallas; one step daughter, Elena
Rose Miller of Lake Charles; one sister, Ruby Buchanan of
Lafayette; 15 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
