Mrs. Bertha Mae Reed

  Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Mae Reed, 90, were held at 2
p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the First Baptist Church of Pleasant
Hill. Officiating was Joe Thibeau, pastor of First Baptist Church
of Pleasant Hill, assisted by Vernon Stephenson. Burial was in
Pleasant Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral
Home, Mansfield.

  Mrs. Reed, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, at North Sabine
Nursing Center, Pleasant Hill. She was born in Pleasant Hill,
where she was a resident. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her
husband, J. S. Reed; and son, Dr. Hoyt J. Reed.

  Survivors are one daughter, Betty Gewin of Pleasant Hill;
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Annie Reed of Natchitoches; grandchildren,
Sandra Frankell and husband Nick of Pleasant Hill, Kathy Reed
Seymour and husband Dan of Shreveport, Jacque Reed Ackel and
husband William of Natchitoches; great grandchildren and
great-great grandchild; brother, Otho Woods of Pleasant Hill; and
sister, Jessie Todd of Shreveport.

  Pallbearers were Clarence Gewin, Roy Bush Bridges, Truman Durr,
Hugh Hardee, Doyle Stockton, and Guffey Lynn Pattison.
