Rhodes, 70, of Shreveport, who died at 6:45 a.m., Friday, in Schumpert Medical Center, after a short illness. The Rev. David Jenkins, pastor of Queensborough Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Fort Jesup Cemetery in Many. Mrs. Rhodes was a native of Robeline, and a resident of Shreveport for 58 years. She was a member of Queensborough Baptist Church, and a retired nurse. Survivors include her husband, three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Salter of Van, Tex., and Mrs. Eunice Mims, and Mrs. Blanche Goodman, both of Many, and two brothers, John Varnado, and M. D. Varnado, both of Many. Pallbearers were Ray Salter, Alan Turner Jr., Franky Jones, Ollie Anderson, Dean W. Lewis, and Wilton Anthony.
