All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Horace Avery Rhodes Services for Mr. Horace Avery Rhodes, 71, of Hughes Springs, were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 1986, at the McGuire Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Raymond Henson officiating, assisted by the Rev. C. L. Hedrick. Burial was at Turkey Creek Cemetery near Hughes Springs. Mr. Rhodes died Saturday, May 31, 1986, at the V. A. Hospital in Shreveport, after a short illness. He was born Feb. 14, 1915, at Kisatchie, La. He was a resident of Hughes Springs for 3 months, and had been a resident of Sibley, La., for 30 years. He was a welder, and a member of Sibley Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marie Foster Rhodes of Hughes Springs; three sons, Reggie Rhodes of Haughton, Randy Rhodes of Minden, Joel Rhodes of Rodessa; two daughters, Jeannie Dyess of Hughes Springs, Patsy Ramsey of Minden; two sisters, Jody Fleneken of Natchitoches, Bertie Williams of Pensacola, Fla.; four brothers, Johnny Rhodes of Many, Roy Rhodes of Mobile, Ala., Elmer Rhodes of Many, Chester Rhodes of Haughton; eighteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were friends of the family.
