Mr. Ritter had been in ill health for several months, being confined to his bed at the home of his son, James C. Ritter on East San Antonio Ave in Many. Interment was at Caldwell cemetery Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m., according to Masonic rites. John M. Ritter was born in Rapides parish, 74 years ago, came to Sabine parish in 1878 and married Miss Susan Caldwell the same year, his mate having preceded him to the grave.
