Rodrigue, 68, died Friday, Sept. 5, in Lake Charles. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7 in Hixson's Funeral Home in Lake Charles, burial followed at Graceland Cemetery. The Rev. Michael A. Rodrigue, son, officiated. Mr. Rodrigue lived in Lake Charles all his life before retiring to Toledo Bend Lake area three years ago. He was a charter member of University Baptist Church where he was chairman of the deacons. He was also a member of Lakeside Baptist church on Toledo Bend Lake. He was a retired barber after 38 years of service, former co-owner of Rodrigues Barber Shop in Lake Charles. In 1969 he was chosen 1969 Louisiana's Barber of the year. He was a member of Barber and Beauticians International Union, where he headed up the powerful Laws Committee. He was president of Barbers and Beauticians Local Union 496, and Barbers and Beauticians Local Union 542, where he was secretary/treasurer. A member of the VFCW International Union and the Louisiana State Association of Barbers. Survivors include his widow of 49 years, Lois Ash Rodrigue; two sons, the Rev. Michael A. Rodrigue of Moss Bluff and Mark Alan Rodrigue of Orange, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Marsha) O'Bryan of Shreveport; one brother, Jerry W. Rodrigue of Lake Charles; two sisters, Mrs. Coy (Lurline) Duplechain and Mrs. Jerry (Shirley) Micelle, both of Lake Charles; a proud grandfather of six, Paul W. Rodrigue of Dallas Texas, Robin Elizabeth Rodrigue, La. Tech, Ruston, Devin Scott O'Bryan, La. Tech, Ruston, Mara Trace O'Bryan of Shreveport, Eric Michael Rodrigue of Moss Bluff and Shelby Taylor Rodrigue of Orange, Texas. Memorial gifts were asked to be sent to the American Heart or the American Lung Association of Louisiana by the family.
