He was the husband of Velma (McConathy) Rials. Born in Florien, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Pearl (Knippers) Rials. Rials had been employed for 35 years by Texas Eastern Transmission Corp. Bernville, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Many. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a 50 year member of Williamson Lodge 307, Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania, Womelsdorf, and a life member of the Robesonia Fire Company. He is survived by three daughters, Rochelle (Rials) Peterson, Honey Grove, Juniata County, Angela K. (Rials) Clay, Robesonia, and Carmon (Rials) Sellers, Oley; four sisters, Pauline (Rials) Neel of Florien, Bertha (Rials) Hopkins of Many, Inez (Rials) Strahan of Warren, Texas, and Edith (Rials) Murray of Sulphur. There also are seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren who are survivors. Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m., in the Lamm & Witman Funeral Home Inc., Wernersville.
