The Sabine Index - Jostlyn P. Rains 
  
  23 Apr 1948 - Jostlyn P. Rains, 70, former Sabinian, died at 
Tri-State hospital, Shreveport, after a brief illness. Funeral 
rites were conducted at Mt. Zion Baptist church 4:30 p.m. Monday 
by Rev. H. E. Hampton, assisted by Rev. W. M. Greer. Interment 
was under direction Massingill funeral home. Pallbearers were 
Floyd Tibbett, General Dew, Riley Patton, D. L. Walden, Henry 
Brumley, B. F. Farrar and Will Aten. 
  
  Surviving relatives include: wife, Mrs. J. P. Rains, Shreveport; 
sons, W. Y. Rains, Shreveport, Jack Rains, Las Cruces, N. M., 
Houston Rains, Orange, Texas; daughters, Mesdames Floyd Cooper, 
Irene Fletcher, T. W. Farrar, C. D. Walden, all of Shreveport, 
and Mrs. Nettie Newman, Orange, Texas; sister, Mrs. John Farmer, 
Marthaville, 23 grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
