Rains 13 Dec 1957 - Funeral services was conducted at Claybor Funeral Home in Orange, Texas, at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9 for C. B. Rains, age 46, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dixon Rains of Many, Rev. H. L. Stevens of North Orange Pentecostal church and Rev. A. G. Cruch of Orangefield Pentecostal church officiated assisted by Rev. D. J. Rainwater. Burial was in Marthaville cemetery Monday afternoon. Mr. Rains drowned Saturday at 5:15 p.m. in Cow Bayou near Orangefield when the boat in which he was riding capsized. His son, Larry, age 16, who was with him swam to shore. Mr. Rains had made his home in Orangefield for the past 15 years. He was employed by the Dupont plant as a pipe fitter. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Geraldean Rains, three daughter, Carolyn, Rachel and Ester, 2 sons Larry and Bill, all of Orangefield. Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dixon Rains of Many, sisters, Mrs. Emmett Taylor of Many and Mrs. E. E. Campbell of Marthaville.
