Rains is survived by his widow, Mrs. Virgie Rains of Zwolle; three sons, Donald Rains of Bossier City, Gordon Louis Rains and Roger Dale Rains, both of Tyler, Tex.; four brothers, Clyde Rains, and Joe Rains, both of Zwolle, Jim Seal Rains of Monroe, and Louis Rains of Washington D. C.; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Skinner of Bossier City, and Mrs. Clara Bell Cooper of Mineral Wells, Tex., and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Bayou Scie Methodist Church on Sunday, April 28, at 4:30 p.m., with the Rev. Bill Sirman, and the Rev. Buddy Greer officiating. Burial was in the Bayou Scie Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Morris Adair, Cecil Tooke, Wafford Flagan, S. L. Campbell, Raybond Sonnier, and Billy Maxey.
