Rains Elrie Alanson Rains, 86, died Saturday, June 29, in a Houston hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, in the First Baptist Church of Hemphill, with the Rev. W. T. Love officiating. Burial was in the Hemphill Cemetery, under the direction of the Starr Funeral Home. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Paul Norman, and Mrs. Leonard Darcheers, both of Napa, Calif., six sons, Dewitt Rains of Monroe, Vernon Rains of Mansfield, Curtis Rains of Pleasant Hill, Louis Rains of Hendersonville, N. C. Rayburn Rains of Natchitoches, and Orlan Rains of Bossier City;' 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two step daughters, Mrs. George Auderer, and Mrs. Bessie Nickerson, both of Houston; two stepsons, Claude Vickers of Leesville, and Berton Coleson of Carl; two sisters, Mrs. Della Moody of Marthaville, and Mrs. Desma Rials of Longview.
