Mrs. Minnie Rains

  Mrs. Minnie Rains, 58, died on Friday, Sept. 29, at 8:43 p.m.,
following a short illness.

  Survivors include two sons, Dewey Rains of Shreveport, and Earl
Rains of Many; one daughter, Nettie Catherine Arthur of Many; two
sisters, Mrs. Lorene Alexander of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs.
Marie Reid of Alexandria; and eight grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Fort
Jesup on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. Officiating were the Rev.
Willie Greer, the Rev. Houston Tibbitts, and the Rev. Arthur
Haymon. Burial was in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of
the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Pallbearers were Tommy Byles, George Davis, Marshall Estes,
Hosea Ebarb, Roy Horn, and Ed Lites.
