The Sabine Index - Mrs. Addie Strickland Rains

  26 May 1961 - Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Strickland Rains,
age 76, who passed away at a hospital in Arlington, Calif., May
6, after a long illness, were conducted at Spring Ridge Baptist
Church near Pleasant Hill, La. Friday May 13, with Rev. Willis
Prothro and Rev. Ada Bonds officiating. Interment was in church
cemetery, under the direction of Drewitt Funeral Home of
Mansfield.

  Mrs. Rains was a native of Sabine Parish, having been reared
near Belmont, La., She moved to Calif. to be with her daughter,
Mrs. Bevie Harvey, after the death of her late husband Marshall
Rains in 1925.

  Survivors are two daughter, Mrs. Bevie Harvey and Mrs. Ruby
Rains of Arlington, Calif, three sisters, Mrs. Hallie Blankenship
of Pleasant Hill, La,; Mrs. Willie Blakenship of Oxford, La.,
Mrs. Hettie Willis of Calif., two brothers, Tom and Herbert of
Converse.
