Raines, 90, of Shreveport, were held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, October 25, at Osborn Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating were Rev. L. A. Reavis, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Marshall, Tex., and Rev. Robert Golatos, pastor of North Highlands United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Interment was in the Woodley Cemetery in Elysion Fields, Tex., at 4 p.m., Monday. He died at 7:05 p.m., Friday, October 22, at Schumpert Medical Center, after a long illness. Mr. Raines was married in Sept. 1923, to Mrs. Lillian Dudley Raines, who preceded him in death. He was a native of Marthaville, and a resident of Shreveport for 43 years. He was a member of the American Legion, and a WWII Veteran, and a retired auto dealer. Survivors include three sons, Harold E. Raines, Marshall, Tex., Charles A. Raines, Hariman, N. Y., and Quinton D. Raines, New York, N. Y.; one sister, Mrs. Vera Curry, Shreveport; one brother, Roy Raines of Marthaville; and one grandson; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Julian Garrett, Hall Westmoreland, W. A. Davis, Joe Rains, Bill Rains, Jimmy Anderson, Weldon Innis, and Gene Perry. Honorary pallbearer, Ben Shively.
