Rains, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 17, at the First United Methodist Church in Marthaville. Rev. Abe Conerly officiated. Burial was in Pisgah Cemetery, with Masonic and military graveside rites, under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Mr. Rains passed away Thursday, November 15, at Natchitoches Parish Hospital He was a native of Marthaville, and a retired merchant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marthaville, American Legion Post No. 10, Natchitoches, Masonic Lodge, Natchitoches Shrine Club, and Elks Lodge. He was Barracks Commander of the State of Louisiana for World War I Veterans, and was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Mae Rains of Marthaville, and several nieces and nephews.
