Bobby was raised in the Zwolle area, and graduated from Zwolle High School. After serving in the U.S. Army in Korea, he continued his education at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, where he received a degree in geology in 1955. He then worked overseas for various oil companies until 1965. Afterwards, Bobby returned home to Sabine Parish, and developed land around Toledo Bend for the remainder of his life. Bobby was a kind and caring person, and is loved and missed by his family and many friends. He will be remembered for his tender heart, and love for others. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Mae and Joe Rains. Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Rains Waddell and her husband Bobby Waddell of Shreveport; two grandchildren, Erin Leigh Waddell, and Beaux Waddell of Shreveport; sisters, Billie Jo Rains of Carmel, Calif., Elaine Grace and husband Hanson of Shreveport, Judy Glover of Dallas, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. A special thanks to Norma "Shot" E. Neel and husband Maurice, Dorene Carlisle, and Debra "Pun'kin" Chambers for all their loving care that they have provided. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., at Bayou Scie Methodist Church in Zwolle, with interment following at Bayou Scie Cemetery. Warren Meadows, Many, La.
