Mr. Jerry Elden Rains, Sr.

  Mr. Jerry Elden Rains Sr., 63, of Pleasant Hill, died Saturday,
Oct. 25, in Pleasant Hill, after a sudden illness. He was a
retired La. State Policeman, and a Mason.

  Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m., at Spring
Ridge Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, with interment following
at Spring Ridge Cemetery, with Masonic graveside services. The
Rev. Vernon Stephenson officiated.

  Survivors include his widow of 40 years, Mrs. Bettie Rains of
Pleasant Hill; one son, Jerry E. "Butch" Rains Jr. and wife
Debbie of Mansfield; one daughter, Susan Faye Leach and husband
Dan of Shreveport; parents, Nolan and Leila Rains of Pleasant
Hill; two brothers, Dale Rains of Many, and Randall Rains of
Haughton; three grandchildren, Amanda Eddleman, Trey Rains, and
Rachel Vieira; and three nephews, Kenneth Rains, Michael Rains,
and Doug Rains. Mr. Rains was preceded in death by his niece,
Brenda Rains.
