Mrs. Kate Rains

  Funeral services for Mrs. Kate Rains, 73, were held at 3 p.m.,
May 3, at Progress Presbyterian Church, with Mrs. Ada S. Bond
officiating. Burial was in Springridge Cemetery, with Warren
Meadows Funeral Home in charge.

  Survivors are her husband Dueroy Rains of Pleasant Hill; one
son, Nuell Rains of Victoria, Texas; five daughters, Mrs. V. J.
Vickers, Zwolle, Mrs. Archie Thompson, and Mrs. Ervin Rachal,
both of Beaumont, Mrs. C. A. Thompson of Victoria, Mrs. Frances
Davis of Freeport; one brother, Henry McElroy; and one sister,
Mrs. W. R. Early, both of Longview; 22 grandchildren; 9 great
grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were Bill Gates, Guffie Pattison, Bill Osborne,
Henry Gewin, Marion Gewin, Clyde Blankenship.
