Copied from The Shreveport Times Services for Thurman J. Randolph, Sr., 64, will be held at 10am., Saturday, July 2, 1994 at the First Assemby of God Church. Officiating will be Rev. Denny Duron, associate pastor of First Assemby of God, assisted by Rev. Rodney Duron, pastor of First Assembly of God. Burial will be in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1pm until 8 pm on Friday at RoseNeaths's Southside Chapel. Mr. Randolph died Wednesday, June 29, 194 after a sudden accident. He was born in Many, La. and was a resident of Shreveport for 40 years. Mr. Randolph was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired mechanic for Arkla Gas Co. Thurman Randolph was a deacon of First Assembly of God Church for 41 years, assisting the church throught three building programs. He also taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was active in all phases of church life. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, a caring grandfather, a faithful son and brother an a devoted friend. He leaves a legacy of sterling Christian character, a man who fought a good fight, kept the faith and is now with the Lord. He is survived by his wife, Della Strahan Randolph; mother Lela Randolph; two sons, James Randolph, Jr. and wife JoAnna all of Shreveport. Doug W. Randolph and wife, Norma of Stonewall; two daughters, Karen RWhitaker and husband Chris of Shreveport, Kathy R. Meacham and husband Donnie of Flower Mound, Texas; twp sisters, Marie Singletary of Little Egypt, La. and Dorothy Hill of Vidalia, La.; three brothers, Andrew Randolph of Keatchie, La., Buford Randolph of Converse, La., and Emmett Randolph of Waskom, Tx.; eight grandchildren, Justin L. Meacham, Jeremy B. Whitaker, Josh C. Whitaker, Jarrod B. Randolph, Jeoffrey S. Meacham, Joan Caroline Randolph, Jeremy LeBlanc and Ronnie LeBlanc; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Pallbrearers will be W.M. Dollar, Marzell Hayes, Bill Alley, Jim Johnston, Fred Lewis, Mansel Holmes, Gene Howard and Carter Anderson. The family suggest memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church Building Fund.
