Randolph, 64, of Shreveport, passed away on June 29, after a sudden accident. He was born in Many, La., and was a resident of Shreveport for 40 years. Mr. Randolph was a veteran of the U. S. Army, and a retired mechanic for Arkla Gas Co. Mr. Thurman Randolph was a deacon at First Assembly of God Church, for 41 years, assisting the church through three building programs. He also taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was active in all phases of church life. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, caring grandfather, a faithful son and brother, and a devoted friend. He leaves a legacy of sterling Christian character, a man who fought a good fight, kept the faith, and is now with the Lord. Prior to his death, Brett stated that was not dying, but going to Heaven. He is survived by his wife, Della Strahan Randolph; mother, Lela Randolph; two sons, James Randolph Jr. and wife JoAnna Randolph, all of Shreveport, Doug W. Randolph and wife Norma of Stonewall; two daughters, Karen R. Whitaker and husband Chris of Shreveport, Kathy R. Meacham and husband Donnie of Flower Mound, Texas; two sisters, Marie Singletary of Little Egypt, La., and Dorothy Hill of Vidalia, La.; three brothers, Andrew Randolph of Keatchie, La., Burford Randolph of Converse, La., and Emmett Randolph of Waskom, Tex.; eight grandchildren, Justin L. Meacham, Jeremy B. Whitaker, Josh C. Whitaker, Jarrod B. Randolph, Jeoffrey S. Meacham, Joan Caroline Randolph, Jeremy LaBlanc, and Ronnie LeBanc; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at 10 p.m., Saturday, July 2, at the First Assembly of God Church. Officiating was Rev. Denny Duron, associate pastor of First Assembly of God. Burial was in Forest Park West Chapel. Visitation was from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Friday, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel Pallbearers were W. M. Dollar, Marzell Hayes, Bill Alley, Jim Johnston, Fred Lewis, Mansel Holmes, Gene Howard, and Carter Anderson. The family suggests memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church Building Fund.
