All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Flossie Phillips Reynolds (Photo) Funeral services for Mrs. Flossie Phillips Reynolds, 83, were held Friday, September 28, at 9:30 a.m., in Frost Chapel of First Baptist Church. Officiating was Dr. Jon Stubblefield, pastor of First Baptist Church, assisted by Reverend Robert W. Guffey, associate pastor of First Baptist Church. Burial at Forest Park Cemetery, was under the direction of Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel. Mrs. Reynolds died unexpectedly at her home Wednesday morning, September 26. She had been a resident of Shreveport for the past eighteen years, moving here with her late husband from Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Reynolds was active in Sunday School and church organizations at First Baptist Church. She was currently serving as president of her Sunday School class, Faithful Workers. In addition, she did volunteer work at the Glen Retirement Village. Mrs. Reynolds was born November 10, 1906, in Pleasant Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell E. Reynolds. She is survived by one daughter, Fern Reynolds Waller and her husband Dayton Waller Jr.; one brother, Victor E. L. Phillips and his wife Alice of Shreveport; four grandchildren and their spouses, Dayton Waller III and his wife Margaret Fory Waller, Elizabeth Waller Johnson and her husband Walter Fair Johnson III, Kathryn Waller Long and her husband Donald Long III, all of Shreveport, and Elaine Waller Moreau and her husband Doug Moreau of Baton Rouge. She was blessed with fourteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roy Bush Bridges, Wendell Collins, Tom George, Clyde Grice, Walter Fair Johnson IV, Hapi Phillips, and Hugh Phillips. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to First Baptist Church, Shreveport, First Baptist Church School, or the charity of the donor's choice.
