Rainer, 75, of Sarepta, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, at the New Sarepta Baptist Church. Officiating were Rev. G. A. Spears, and Rev. Scott Teutsch. Burial was in the Rocky Mount Presbyterian Cemetery, under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill. Mr. Rainer, a native of Belmont, and a resident of Sarepta for 44 years, passed away Monday, August 20, in Springhill, after a lengthy illness. He was an active and faithful member of the New Sarepta Baptist Church, where he taught the Young Boy's Sunday School Class, and also the Royal Ambassadors. He was a member of the Senior Men's Bible Class. He was a retired employee of International Paper Company, with 32 year of service, and a member of the IP Supervisors Club. He is survived by his wife, Thelma McKinney Rainer of Sarepta; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Ray and Sue Weir Rainer of Baton Rouge, Joe and Suzanne Bush Rainer of Ruston; grandchildren, Randall Reese Rainer, Rebecca Raye Rainer, Haley Elizabeth Rainer, and a foster daughter, Mary Sang Men of Sarepta; three sisters, Irma Dee Russell, Thelma McGowan, and Betty Merle Fields, all of Many; two brothers, Jesse T. Rainer of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Billy Wayne Rainer. Pallbearers were Wiley Holley, James Sheppard, Roland Colvin, Cliff Sanders, Wayne Edgeman, and Charles Neal. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Senior Men's Bible Class, and Jim Cochran.
