Rhinehart Services were conducted at Kings Highway Christian Church in Shreveport, for Rachel J. Rhinehart, 69, of Shreveport, on Monday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. Officiating was the Rev. Jeffrey Wilson. Interment followed at Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation was at Centuries Funeral Home on Sunday, June 18, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Mrs. Rhinehart entered into rest on Friday, June 16, at Highland Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born in Belmont, and was a life-long resident of Shreveport. She was a dedicated member of Kings Highway Christian Church, where she served as an elder, and on numerous committees. Mrs. Rhinehart was a graduate of Shreveport Charity Nursing School, class of 1951. She was the former supervisor of the Bossier Parish Health Unit for many years, and retired as the director of nursing of the Pines Treatment Center. Mrs. Rhinehart was preceded in death by her father, DeWitt LaFette. She is survived by her son, Kegin Houghlan and wife Lauree of Bedford, Texas; her mother, Martha Austin LaFiette of Many; and her grand dogs, Journey and Ranger; and a host of friends. Pallbearers were Rick Durham, Rob Parker, D. J. Belanger, Mark Foster, Mitchell Vines, and David Farmer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kings Highway Christian Church. The family would like to thank the nurses at Highland C.C.U., and especially to Charlotte and Suzanne, for their loving care.
