Revs. David Hanna, and Bill Sirman officiated. Burial was in the Springville Cemetery, under the direction of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home. Mr. Shaw died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, in the L. S. Huckabay Memorial Hospital, Coushatta. Mr. Shaw and his family have resided in Coushatta for the past 40 years. He was a native of Jefferson, Texas. Mr. Shaw was the owner of Shaw Timber Co. "Daddy Bill" was an avid outdoorsman and naturalist. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Sherman Shaw of Coushatta; two daughters, Christy McCallum (husband David) of Houston, Texas, and Paula Hardee (husband Hugh), Pleasant Hill; two sons, Sherman Shaw (wife Jean), Monroe, Bill Shaw (wife Hope), Coushatta; one sister, Anna Shaw of Jefferson, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Luke McCallum, Emily McCallum, Allison Hardee, Hugh "Hamp" Hardee, Paige Hardee, Holly Boyd (husband Trey), Abby Shaw, Sherman "Shooter" Shaw, Stuart Shaw, and Lacy Shaw; one great grandchild, Tyler Boyd. Pallbearers were Roy Carney, Stanley Smith, Steve Jones, Edgar Cason, Bill Townsend, Johnny Lee, Ray Penny, and Dr. Wyche Coleman. Honorary pallbearers were Clint Jackson, Dr. Jackie D. Huckabay, Donnie Kelly, Mercer B. Dupree, Gordon Foster, and Wyche Coleman.
