Shobe, age 81, of 323 Jones Street, Mayfield, Kentucky, died Thursday, April 14, 1987, at Community Hospital in Mayfield. He is retired from the Mayfield Electric and Water Systems in Mayfield, and a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Mayfield. Survivors are his wife, Alpha Shobe of Mayfield; daughters, Mrs. Hoyt (Janelle) Weaver of Many, Mrs. Harmon (Dathel) Latham of Paducah, Ky., Mrs. Ellis (Wanda) Newsom of Mayfield, Ky., Dr. Faye Logsdon of Culver City, Calif., Mrs. John (Joyce) Moses Jr. of Hickory, Ky., Mrs. Jerry (Sharon) Ivey of Union City, Tenn.; brothers, Odelle Shobe of Camden, Tenn., Buford Shobe of Paris, Tenn., and George Shobe of Fontana, Calif.; sister, Mrs. Herman Perkins of Puryer, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Melton Sexton, and Mrs. Osa Perkins, sisters, preceded him in death. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 16, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, with Rev. Gary Frizzell officiating. Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield.
