Sava Sr., 89, of Texarkana, Ark., died Wednesday, Dec. 27. He was born Jan. 18, 1906, in Texarkana, Ark. He was retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad. He was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church, St. Edwards Knights of Columbus, and secretary-treasurer of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Lintz, who passed away in 1995, and his wife, Pauline Wolk Sava, who died in 1969. Survivors include eight sons, J. A. Sava Jr. of Hudson, Colo., Paul A. Sava of Apache Junction, Ariz., James E. Sava of Seward, Ark., Charles C. Sava of Zwolle, Bernard F. Sava of Denver, Colo., Harold Sava of Wake Village, Tex., David G. Sava of Dallas, Tex., and Steve Sava of Hot Springs, Ark.; one daughter, Mary A. Sava; and one brother, A. J. Sava, both of Texarkana, Ark.; one sister, Minnie Shields of Stigler, Okla.; 30 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. A rosary was held Friday, Dec. 29, at East Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, at St. Edwards Catholic Church. Officiating was Rev. Gerald Priest. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
