Officiating were the Rev. James Smith, associate pastor of Brookwood Baptist Church, with the church's pastor, Rev. Mark Sutton, assisting. Burial followed at Forest Park West Cemetery. Funeral home visitation was Sunday, from 5 until 8 p.m. Mrs. Spivey passed away Friday, July 17, at her residence, after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Noble, and a resident of Shreveport since 1944. Mrs. Spivey was a homemaker, and a charter member of Brookwood Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Spivey Sr.; four sons, Robert C. Spivey Jr. and wife Sandra, Perry Spivey, David Spivey and wife Delaine, all of Shreveport, and Joseph Spivey and wife Darlene of Nashville, Tennessee; and four grandchildren, Trey, Kelcy, David, and Sarah. Pallbearers were Trey Spivey, Hoyt Cassel, Terry Cassel, Charlie Thames, Clarence LaCaze, Phillip Curtis, and Sam Spivey. Honorary pallbearer was Charles Spivey. The family suggest memorials may be made to the Willis-Knighton Hospice Program, or the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe.
