Mike Fort, the Rev. A. F. Ott, and the Rev. Avon Cavanaugh officiated, Burial was in the Little Flock Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mrs. Speight died in the Natchitoches Parish Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 1:30 p.m. She was 86. Survivors include five sons, Preston Speight of Shreveport, C. W. Speight of Many, Edward Speight of Negreet, Eugene Speight of Many, and Cedric Speight of Fort Jesup; two daughters, Audrey Walker of Jacksonville, N. C., and Hattie Savell of Many; two brothers, Jim Nelson, and Willie Nelson, both of Florien; one sister, Emma Nelson of Florien; 30 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren.
