Graveside services were at 1 p.m., June 3, at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Many. Mr. Speight was born March 23, 1923, in Clare, to Robert Sidney and Eula Ion Speight. He worked as a plumber and electrician. He was a member of the VFW, member and past president of the Greater Caddo Lake Association, and a member of Karnack Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Navy from July 1943, to February 1946. Survivors include two sons, Larry Odell Speight of Livingston, Texas, and Robert Odell Speight Jr. and his wife Cindy of Karnack, Texas; two daughters, Barbara Jo Ortiz of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lyn Baker and her husband Tommy of Pasadena, Texas; brother, Lelan Speight and wife Glindle of Arkansas; sister, Glenice Owens of Pittsford, N. Y.; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and special friend, Johnene Harrison of Atlanta, Texas. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
