Sibley 7 Feb 1947 - Lewis R. Sibley, 52, of Shreveport, former superintendent of the Shreveport dog pound died at the Veterans hospital in Alexandria at 3 p.m. Sunday after a long illness, having been hospitalized for the last year. He was employed by the Caddo-Shreveport health unit as pound master for about three years, but resigned when he became ill. Mr. Sibley lived in Shreveport for 15 years. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Clara Sibley, of Many; a daughter, Miss Marcell Sibley of Shreveport; a brother, F. T. Sibley of Many; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Shufflin and Mrs. W. S. Davis of Many and Mrs. A. C. Phillips of Shreveport. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Olive cemetery near Many. Rose-Neath funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
