Mr. Sibley, a native of Many, had resided in Shreveport since 1959. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Many. Mr. Sibley is survived by his wife, Mrs. Omega Sibley of Shreveport; three sons, Ken Sibley of Abbeville, Guy Burl Sibley of Houston, Texas, and D. Avard Sibley of Shreveport; four daughters, Geneva Roper of Tioga, and Loretta Timpa, Cynthia Taylor, and Kathy Litton, all of Shreveport; four sisters, Leona Shepard of Mansfield, Viola Cox of Overton, Texas, Effie Jordan of Overton, Texas, and Evelyn Erwin of Point Comfort, Texas; two brothers, Bill Sibley of Mansfield, and Coleman Sibley of Many; fifteen grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Nick Timpa, M. F. Roper, Vic Mims, Mike Cox, Sonny Mickham, and Glascow Hawkins. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 16, at 1 p.m., at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. The Rev. Albert Huckaby, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiated. Burial followed in Forest Park West Cemetery.
