Sibley, 71, a Peninsula resident for 37 years, died Friday, Feb. 26. A native of Many, he retired in 1980, as environmental control officer, after 39 years with Amoco Oil Co. Mr. Sibley was a World War II Army Air Force pilot, and a charter member of Warmick Baptist Church, where he was deacon emeritus. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Sibley; a daughter, Donna J. Sibley of Washington, D. C.; a son, Kenneth R. Sibley of League City, Texas; one sister, Lillian Sibley of Many; nephew, Oswell F. Merritt, Many; niece, Gerry Merritt Speirs of Churchview, Va., who grew up in the home with him. He is survived by a host of other nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. M. B. "Tuck" Sibley; five brothers, Thomas Sibley, Roy Sibley, Pierce Sibley, Lawrence Sibley, and Cecil Sibley; six sisters, Bertha Sibley Duggan, Ivan Sibley Felts, Elva Sibley Kelly, Claudie Sibley Merritt, Anna Sibley Davenport, and Verda Sibley Jones.
