Savell, 81, of Many, were held on Thursday, June 23, 1994, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Revs. Guy Burr, and Pinkley King officiated the services. Interment followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Savell began after 5 p.m., on Wednesday evening, at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, until service time Thursday morning. Mr. Savell died in his residence on Tuesday, June 21, 1994. He is survived by his wife, Effie B. Savell of Many. Rufus and Effie had been married for 61 years. Mr. Savell is also survived by three sons, Charles Savell of Arlington, Texas, James Savell of Mineola, Texas, and Barry Savell of Natchitoches; three daughters, Margie Brown of Killeen, Texas, Dorothy Grove of Many, and Carolyn Mouton of Carencro, La.; one sister, Ada Belle Grastiet of Nevada; two brothers, Richard Jones of LaMesa, California, and Raymond Jones of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Les Lites, James Lites, Edwin Ray Lites, Marlin Brumley, Dean Brumley, Carmen Brumley, and Buddy Tabor.
