Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., March 5, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with interment following at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The Rev. Earl Marr, the Rev. Mark Eakin, and the Rev. Spencer Lovitt officiated. Survivors include two sons, James Savell and wife Linda of Mineola, Texas, and Berry Savell and wife Millie of Natchitoches; three daughters, Margie Brown of Killeen, Texas, Dorothy Grove of Many, and Carolyn Mouton and husband Preston of Carencro; one sister, Jenny Brazzel of Shreveport; two brothers, Marlin Brumley of Haughton, and Dean Brumley of Longview, Texas; 14 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Savell; and son, Charles Savell. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Lynn Brown, Craig Savell, Jason Savell, Bruce Grove, Steven Savell, and Jamie Savell.
