Spillyards, 82, of Converse, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, in the Allen Sanitarium, following a short illness. Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 2, in the Fellowship Baptist Church, with the Rev. Brown, and the Rev. Roach officiating. Interment was in the Fellowship Cemetery. Mr. Spillyards, a long time resident of Sabine Parish, was born in Braxton, Miss., and moved to Louisiana at the age of eight. He had resided in the parish until the time of his death. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John Roberson of Shreveport, and Mrs. Sam Hall of Pine Bluff, Ark.,; one son, Q. D. Spillyards of Lacassine; five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
