E. Price Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Logansport Chapel. The Rev. Guy Murphy, pastor of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church of Stanley, La., officiated. Mrs. Spann, a native of Polk County, Texas, died July 16, 1986, in Pleasant Hill General Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She had been a resident of North Sabine Nursing Center in Pleasant Hill for the past three and a half years, and was a former resident of Logansport for some 60 years. She was a homemaker, and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, and was for many years, engaged in cotton farming in Catahoula Parish, and Angus cattle raising in DeSoto Parish, with her late husband. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed D. Spann; two sons, Edward Dorsey Spann, and Henry Thomson Spann, Sr.; and one grandson, Howard L. Spann. She was survived by seven grandchildren, Thomas E. and Ilyene Spann of Shreveport, James D. and Eva Spann of Pleasant Hill, Henry T. Jr. and Sue Spann of Carthage, Tex., Nita M. Spann of Little Rock, Ark., and Anna L. and James Moses of Shreveport, Clarice and Tim Morgan of Sacramento, Calif., Don and Teresa Cogswell of Logansport; and six great grandchildren, Angela Spann Honeycutt of Shreveport, Gina, and Dean Jones of Joaquin, Texas, Marie E. Spann of Pleasant Hill, Andrew Parrisa Spann, and Brent Edward Spann of Shreveport; and three great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons and great grandsons, Thomas E. Spann, James D. Spann, Henry T. Spann Jr., Don Spann Cogswell, James N. Spann, and Andrew P. Spann.
