Mr. Sparish was retired from the Louisiana State Police, as a computer operator. He served four years of active duty and two years reserved time in the United States Air Force. He received an honorable discharge on November 8,1961. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 22 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Many with interment following at Beulah Cemetery in Many. The Rev. Kenneth Leach, pastor of Beulah Baptist Church, officiated. Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Nina Sparish of Many; two sons, Paul Anthony Sparish and wife, Kim of Doyline and Michael Lynn Sparish and wife, Sue of Robeline; two daughters, LaRhonda K. Savell and husband, Danny of Many and Shannon D. Comeaux and husband, David of Lafayette; three sisters, Ann Citino of Beloit, Ohio, Elizabeth Pavich of Worthington, W. Va. and Mary Lou Holt of Lumberport, W. Va.; one sister-in-law, Mary Sparish of Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Sparish was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Sparish and one brother, Phillip Sparish.
