The funeral was at 3 p.m., Thursday, June 1, at Central Baptist Church of Robeline, with the Rev. J. D. McNeal, and the Rev. LeRoy James officiating. Burial was in Central Cemetery, under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis funeral Home of Natchitoches. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Bobby Sparks, Donald Sparks, and David Sparks, all of Robeline, Charles Sparks of Provencal, and John Sparks of Natchitoches; two daughters, Mrs. Edwin Strickland, and Laura Sparks, both of Robeline; three sisters, Mrs. Lula Wallace of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Leon Simmons of Fisher, and Mrs. Eldon Edwards of Alco; two brothers, Pat Sparks of Pineland, Texas, ands Gene Sparks of Fisher; and two grandchildren.
