Spurgin Services were held for Mrs. Louise G. Spurgin, 44, of Shreveport, at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 13, at the First Methodist Church, where Mrs. Spurgin was a member. Dr. D. L. Dykes officiated. Burial was in Forest Park West Cemetery. Mrs. Spurgin, a resident of Shreveport for 20 years, died at 11:30 p.m., Sunday, July 11, at Highland Hospital, after a long illness. She was employed with Western Electric for 20 years, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. Spurgin was a native of Marthaville. She is survived by her husband, James E. Spurgin, mother Lucille Hughes of Shreveport; father, C. W. Greer, Sr., of Bernice; grandmother, Viola Keene Robertson of Bossier City; great grandmother, Alice Ebert of Marthaville; daughter, Janet M. Huff of Shreveport; two sisters, Jeanette Owen, and Elizabeth Bays of Shreveport; one brother, C. W. Greer, Jr. of Minden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
