Sparks, 47, of Keithville, La., died Dec. 12, 1987, at Willis Knighton South. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 11:30 a.m., at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, with Dr. William Crosby, pastor of First Baptist Church of Mansfield, officiating. Burial was at Fender Cemetery in Many, La., under the direction of Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. He was born in Many, La., on Sept. 9, 1940. He was a retired machinist for A. T. & T. He was Baptist, a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and a member of the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Nervie Sparks of Many; one son, Benjamin Sparks of Bossier City; two daughters, Donna Stephens of Shreveport, and Connie Bush of Bossier City; two sisters, Juanita Berry of Shreveport, and Areta Langston of Houma; two grandsons, Steven, and Michael Bush; several nieces and nephews.
