Bertie Williams Spears

  Funeral services for Bertie Williams Spears were held at 2 p.m.,
Saturday, March 30, in the First Baptist Church in Hornbeck, with
the Rev. Bobby McCullough, and Rev. Harvey Hoffman officiating.
Burial followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery, under the direction of
Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville, La.

  Mrs. Spears, 100, of Hornbeck, passed away March 18, in the
Sabine Medical Center in Many.

  She is survived by four sons, Alfred L. Spears and wife Pearl of
Hornbeck, William Cullen Spears and wife Jirlene of Leesville,
Clarence Spears and wife Bertha of Hornbeck, A. J. Spears and
wife Miami of Shreveport; one daughter, ? Spears Byrd and husband
Ottis of Houston; daughter-in-law, Margurite Spears of Florien;
27 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and 49 great-great
grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
