Spears, 93, of Hornbeck, died Monday, July 18, in Many, after a long illness. Funeral services were held in Prewitts Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Graham officiating. Burial was in Prewitts Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. The grandsons served as pallbearers. Survivors are nine sons, P. J. Spears of Smackover, Ark., Mack Spears of Mansfield, Dewitt Spears of Hornbeck, Harvey Spears of El Dorado, Ark., Fred Spears of Smackover, Dewey Spears of Coleman, Tex., Glenn Spears of Montgomery, Ala., Roy Spears of Atlanta, Tex., and Crawford Spears of Smackover; four daughters, Mrs. Nestie Wells of New Iberia, Mrs. Kat Coulter of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. Jewell Copeland of Many, and Mrs. Edna James of Hornbeck; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
