Mr. Springer was a veteran of WWII and a member of the Flying Tigers. He was a local president of N. A. R. F. E. and a lifetime member of V. F. W. Mr. Springer was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at St. John's Catholic Church in Many with interment following at St. John Cemetery. Father William Carey officiated. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Sabine Chapter #21 of the DAV. Survivors include three sons, Michael Springer, Ronald Springer and wife. Merle and Kelly Springer all of Many; two daughters Betty Craig and husband, Jerry of Many and Karen Womack and husband, Henry of Converse; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
