All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Lucien Sebren Funeral services for Lucien Henry Sebren, 93, of Midway Manor Nursing Home, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, in the Union Baptist Church of Belmont. Burial was in the Union Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home's South Side Chapel. Mr. Sebren died at 1:55 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6. The Sabine Parish native had lived in Shreveport since 1953, and was a retired farmer, and former Sabine Parish school teacher. A member of a pioneer Sabine Parish family, Mr. Sebren had also served as a member of the Sabine Parish School Board. Mr. Sebren was a member of the Highland Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Sunday School, and the ZYZ Club. While in Sabine, he was a member of the Union Baptist Church of Belmont, where he was a deacon for 50 years. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Violet Coley of Natchez, Miss., Mrs. Jewel Oakerson of Mt. Pleasant, Tex., and Mrs. Joe Hickey of Longview, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Bullard of Zwolle; 19 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Milton McFerrin, J. W. Webb, Joel Webb, Marvin Carter, Richard Dunbar, and Gary West.
