Springer Jr., 69, of Converse, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 12, at the San Patricio Baptist Church. Officiating was Bro. Bob Hannigan, church pastor. Masonic graveside services followed at Cassel Cemetery, with burial under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Mansfield. Pallbearers were Gerald Ezernack, Peck Taylor, Smith Tatum, Bill Sikes, Delton Springer, and Elton Springer. Honorary pallbearers included Gene Pattison, Gary Pattison, Ronald McDonald, John McDonald, and Troy Boyd. Mr. Springer died at his Converse residence on Saturday, March 10, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Noble, and was a construction worker with the local Pipefitters Union. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the United States Army. Mr. Springer was a member of the San Patricio Baptist Church, and the Mitchell Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Bell Springer; and a sister-in-law, Doola Springer. Mr. Springer is survived by his wife of 23 years, Marie Springer of Converse; his father, Lennis B. Springer Sr.; three daughters, Cheri K. Sewell and husband Ricky of Mansfield, Shonda Pattison and husband Dennis of San Saba, Texas, and Amy Burnett and husband Ricky of Sikes; two sisters, Bertha Cowdin and husband Eugene of Grand Cane, and Helen Dale Craig and husband Joe of Mansfield; one brother, Amos Springer of Mansfield; four grandchildren; one great grandson; and a host of other family members and friends.
