Springer, 84, were held Monday, April 22, 1996, in the Mooringsport Baptist Church, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Marshall Street Chapel. Rev. Eddie DeHout, pastor of Mooringsport Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Harrel F. Shelton Sr., associate pastor of Airline Baptist Church. Interment was held in Memorial Gardens in Mooringsport. Mr. Springer passed away Sunday, April 20, 1996, in Mooringsport. He was a native of Converse, and a resident of Mooringsport for most of his life. He was a retired school bus driver for the Caddo Parish School System. He was a member of the Mooringsport Baptist Church, an avid horseman, and had served as president of the Caddo Riding Club. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Cora P. Springer of Mooringsport; son, James C. Springer of Slidell; two sisters, Annie R. Simmons, and Danny M. Goldfield; five brothers, Eldin Springer of Mooringsport, and L. B., Sam, Johnny, and Toby Springer, all of Converse; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
