Father Daniel Walsh officiated. Burial was at Mooringsport Memorial Gardens in Mooringsport, La. Mrs. Spohrer died Saturday, September 14, 1985, in a drowning accident in the Gulf of Mexico near St. George Island. She was born October 28, 1928, in Shreveport, La. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Appalachacola, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Berchman Spohrer, Sr. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Irene Ponselle of Shreveport; two sons, John B. Spohrer, Jr. of St. George Island, and Richard K, Spohrer of Shreveport; three daughters, Marilyn Osborn of Many, La., Barbara Sanders, and Theresa Spohrer of St. George Island; four sisters, Freddie Spohrer, and Marye Allen of Shreveport, Nell Britner of Hemphill, Texas, and Jean Rains of Many, La.; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
