Officiating was the Rev. Alfred Mitchell, retired, assisted by Rev. Bob Miller, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mansfield. Burial was in Springridge Cemetery, Pleasant Hill. Mr. Sistrunk died Tuesday, August 15, 1995, at Highland Hospital in Shreveport, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Sistrunk was born in Mitchell, and was a resident of Mansfield. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mansfield. Mr. Sistrunk was a retired heavy equipment operator, and a veteran of WWII, U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Nevada B. Sistrunk of Mansfield; one son, Hulon M. Sistrunk of Mansfield; sister, Floy McComic of Fairhope, Ala., Aleece Ryan of Coushatta; two brothers, Marion Sistrunk and wife Opal of Pleasant Hill, and Morris Sistrunk of Mansfield; grandson, Scott Sloan Sistrunk of Mansfield; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Glenn Brown, Cecil Brown, Louis Myers Jr., Jim Litton, Andre Kurkiewicz, Jim Smith, and Mike Brown.
