The Rev. Clarence Berry, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church near Negreet officiated. Mrs. Sweet, a Wal-Mart employee, died Saturday, January 14, 1989, at Highland Hospital in Shreveport, following a lengthy illness. She was 37. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Sweet; three daughters, Tracy, Felicia, and LaShan; her mother, Gladys Holden; her father, Jessie Holden; a brother, Jessie Holden, Jr.; two sisters, Lottie Maxie, and Shirley Holden; four aunts; three uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Jenkins Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the New Jerusalem Cemetery. Pallbearers were Heupy P. Scott, John Holland, Louis Ray Hollins, Donald Sweet, Charles Brumfield, and Robert A. Sweet. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Antioch Baptist Church, where Mrs. Sweet was a member.
